Mission

Habitat for Humanity

“Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from theHabitat for Humanity House Under Construction foundation of the world.”

Village Church sponsors the construction of a house each year. The majority of the work on that house is carried out by the Tuesday-Thursday Crew, a collection of volunteers of all skill levels who either work or are retired from careers totally unrelated to home building. The only essential trait is a strong desire to create decent housing for low-income families.

Through its Mission Committee, Village Church has sponsored the construction of more than 30 homes. The Tuesday-Thursday Crew has participated in the actual construction of each of those houses and many others as time permitted.

Habitat Volunteers

The nucleus of the Tuesday-Thursday Crew is made of volunteers who are Village Church members. But, the Crew is not exclusive and welcomes volunteers from all faiths. Most of the Crew members are retired from occupations totally unrelated to building houses. Craft skills are limited, but the desire to create decent housing for low-income families is strong. By working together with Habitat supervision, they get it done.

Habitat Volunteers

Volunteer opportunities for students and working adults are available on Saturdays.
