"Introduction to Respite Care Ministry"
Are you seeking a new way to answer God’s call and serve those in need? Please consider becoming a Respite Friend volunteer in our Respite Care Ministry. Following a three-hour training class this spring, you will be matched with a family who is in a caregiving situation. Regular home visits by a volunteer or a Respite Friend Volunteer Team who share a schedule of visits is a gift for both the family caregiver and the loved one who is in need of care. Befriending and supporting a family in need is a very rewarding experience.
To learn more about becoming a Respite Friend and why Respite Care matters, you may attend an overview class. You will learn what respite care is, gain an understanding of the needs of families who are in caregiving situations, and hear from a panel of current volunteers. It is our hope that this introduction will be helpful to you as you consider becoming a volunteer.
“Introduction to Respite Care Ministry” is being offered at two different times:
• Wednesday, February 15, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Room 132 OR
• Tuesday, February 21, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Room 132
To register for a session, please contact: Gayle Yelenik, Respite Care coordinator, 913.671.2370 or e-mail.
